Ultrafiltration membrane system for landfill leachate

Waste Recycling Group (WRG) selected Axium Process to conduct a series of trials to assess the suitability of membrane technology against their specific site demands which resulted in the successful award of a £200,000 contract.  Axium Process designed, built and commissioned a self-contained ultrafilration membrane plant which is successfully treating up to 140,000 litres of landfill leachate per day at a site in North Lincolnshire.

Reverse Osmosis Membrane Filtration for leading UK equipment manufacturer

Designed to process 106,000 litres of pre-treated water per hour, this fully automated, two stage reverse osmosis membrane filtration plant was designed and built for W7ter Ltd, a leading UK equipment manufacturer for electro-based water and waste water treatment.

Water recycling plant for Axminster Carpets is believed to be the UK's first wastewater recycling plant that has a closed loop system with a target "zero discharge" to sewer.

The filtration plant, including the pre-filters and membrane systems, has a total membrane area of 3000 sq. metres including both tubular ultrafiltration and spiral wound reverse osmosis membranes.

Of particular interest to many manufacturers is the fact that the company will save a substantial amount of money with zero discharge to sewer.  Also, the use of chemicals has been much reduced and a significant amount of energy saved by returning hot water for process applications.

Barry Callebaut purchases Jacketed Duplex Filter

This specially developed duplex filter system utilises a combination of wedge-wire and mesh filter screens and is designed to offer high product security as well as a consistently filtered product. The entire filter system, including the valves, is completely jacketed to ensure that the product temperature will be maintained to close limits.

Mobile Nanofiltration Membrane Pilot Plant for Cork Institute of Technology

Koch Membrane Systems recently commissioned Axium Process to build a mobile membrane filtration pilot plant for The Irish National Centre for Membrane Technology.  Utilising both nanofiltration and reverse osmosis membrane technology this highly versatile manual pilot plant is cGMP compliant and also ATEX approved making it suitable for use in hazardous areas.

High Flow Triplex Filter Skid for 3M

Manufactured in 304 stainless steel with 316 stainless steel contact parts and DNV (Det Norsk Veritas) accreditation to 2.7-1, this high flow triplex filter skid was designed and built for the 3M Oil and Gas market centre, to be used onshore and offshore for the filtration of waste waters and well bore completion fluids.

Henkel buy Perforated Sheet Filters following successful trials

Following successful trials using our Econ-Screen perforated sheet filter range, Henkel Ireland ordered a substantial number of filters to prevent blockages in the filling heads of their packaging lines.  The filters which were required to remove agglomerated lumps of material from adhesives of varying consistencies are designed to withstand the high pressures associated with very viscous products.  Henkel Ireland has reported that substantial savings have been realised as a result of reducing costly downtime.

Asceptic Frame Build for Stickpack Europe Ltd

This asceptic packaging machine frame was fabricated for Stickpack Europe as part of their new hygienic filling equipment.  All contact parts were manufactured in 316L stainless steel and finished to <0.4 µm RA.  The scope of supply also included the fabrication of hygienic pipe work, machine covers and extraction hoods.

Axium develops viral filtration system for leading biopharmaceutical company

This mobile system was manufactured to a very strict specification incorporating 15 highly specialised, single use, viral removal filters and allows single operator changeovers using a single lever activated mechanism.  The system was supplied with a full document dossier as part of the validation requirements..

Ultrafiltration Membrane System for Volac International Ltd - market leader in specialist areas of animal nutrition

This system was manufactured to customer specification in hygienic stainless steel and consisted of 64 spiral membranes.  It was built as an extension to an existing membrane filtration system to increase WPC production capacity.  The system was successfully installed, commissioned and tested within a 48 hour scheduled shut down.

Membrane Filtration Capabilities

As well as the supply of custom built frames and skids, process equipment, components and fittings, our design and build capabilities also include membrane filtration systems.  Recent projects have included Ultrafiltration, Nanofiltration and Reverse Osmosis systems, both manual and fully automatic, up to 2200 sq metres of membrane area

Custom Built Compact Duplex Pure-Screen Filters for Peter's Food Services

We recently installed eight Compact Duplex Pure-Screen filter systems which were custom designed and built following a successful pilot filter trial at Peter's Foods.  The duplex filters have replaced the existing mesh filters as a solution to the constant blocking of the fine spray nozzles which apply glaze to their range of baked pies and sausages

220 Litre Pressure Vessel For Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service

Designed and built to PD5500, this vessel had to fit into a specific footprint as well as be mobile.  The vessel was manufactured in 316L stainless steel and fitted with valves, fittings and instruments as well as large top-mounted inspection port all of which had to be capable of being cleaned-in-place and be autoclavable on a routine basis to 121°C.

Pressure Tank Manufacture For The Pharmaceutical Industry

Our capabilities include the fabrication of tanks and vessels. This particular pressure vessel was designed and manufactured in accordance with PD 5500:2003 and the EC Pressure Equipment Directive. The pressurised and jacketed vessel which was fitted with a sightglass, air inlet, agitator, pressure relief valve, pressure gauge and security lock clamps, was issued with full documentation in compliance with the UK Pressure Equipment Regulations and customer requirements including material certification to BS EN 10204:2004 3.1

100,000 litre Continuous Biological Treatment Unit

A 100,000 litre stainless steel unit designed to treat 4,500 litres per hour of effluent - for a leading pump manufacturer. The system comprised of three custom designed tanks, a specialist aeration system, semi-automatic controls and comprehensive instrumentation with a facility to link to an existing site SCADA system. The feed system incorporated a duplex Pure-Screen filter system.

New Bottling Plant for South Staffordshire Water

This project involved the supply of stainless steel 316 process pipework including bends, tees, valves, flanges and spool pieces, most of which required customised fabrication. Axium Process worked closely with South Staffordshire Water Plc to ensure that the correct specification was used to eliminate any possible areas of contamination in the plant.
